About Me

I'm a local news reporter with the Saginaw and Bay City News at MLive.com. 

I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in graphic design. I've previously interned with The Ann Arbor News, the Arizona Republic and the Reading Eagle, and spent my four years in college working for The State News, Michigan State's independent student newspaper.

I've picked up skills in video, photography, design, social media, audio and management through my experiences.

Some of my accolades include: 

• Covering the first and last days of Larry Nassar's Ingham County sentencing hearing
• Scoring a competitive Pulliam Fellowship that placed me on a major city beat at the Arizona Republic
• Being named Best Writer in the weekly division by the Michigan Collegiate Press Association in 2018, as well as taking home the first place "Best News Story" award.

My favorite stories to report are in-depth pieces, ones that dig into data, answer questions people want answered, hold the powerful accountable. My goal is to perform watchdog, analytical or investigative journalism in a community I can make an impact.
